NOCEBO EFFECTS

The nocebo effect is all about fear.
If there is a significant amount of fear in relation to a medical procedure or a practitioner, even if one is not consciously aware of that fear, a nocebo effect can occur.
In research studies, a nocebo is a harmless substance that has a negative impact because the person believes it will.
It's the opposite of placebo. Put simply, if you think either consciously or subconsciously that a medication, procedure, or even a food might affect you negatively, it is more likely to happen.
It's a self- fulfilling prophecy.
